The Indigenuous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reiterated its resolve to stop any Igbo Summit organized by Nnia Nwodo, National Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, which does not discuss referendum.
This was made known in a press release made available to Orient Daily and signed by IPOB ’s publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, which insists that Nnia Nwodo is only allowed to hold Igbo summits that discuss “the upcoming referendum” and not restructuring.
The group claimed privy to plans by Ohaneze Ndigbo to organize an Igbo Summit in Enugu state during which restructuring shall be discussed as well as negotiations between Nnia Nwodo and “a certain Brigadier General” to provide security during the event. They said they would not spare the children of Nnia Nwodo and other collaborators if any IPOB member is arrested or killed while resisting the meeting on the D-day.
The release read thus in part, “ Nnia Nwodo and his fellow Hausa Fulani servants will understand how enraged we are on the day of the so-called summit scheduled to hold in Enugu. Should the Nigerian army arrest of or kill anyone on that day, Nnia Nwodo’s children and that of the governors and anybody else involved in the betrayal of IPOB and Biafrans in general will suffer the same fate regardless of where they are.”
The group opined that Ohaneze Ndigbo has outlived its relevance and only exists to “entrench Fulani dominance and influence over Igboland and Biafra in general.”
