The South African government has granted the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, permission to hold a peaceful demonstration on May 30, 2019.
The group had approached the South African authority, seeking permission to demonstrate in memory of those who died in the struggle for Biafra independence. This, the government granted the group today.
According to a source who spoke to View Report said that no less than 300 people are expected to protest in the city of Durban and other parts of South Africa on May 30, 2019.
IPOB had declared "Sit at home" in the old eastern region of Nigeria, where they said there will be no commercial activities or vehicle movements, to commemorate those who died in the struggle for Biafra independence. The group also ordered its members in the diaspora to hold demonstrations to mark the event.
