Killing Of Christians: UK Report Indicts President Buhari

The global independent report on the persecution of Christians in seven countries of the world has been submitted to the Government of the United Kingdom.

The report authored by the Rt. Rev. Philip Mounstephen Bishop of Truro in the United Kingdom conducted investigations in Iraq, Indonesia, China, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Syria and Nigeria as the world capitals for the persecution of Christians.

The report which was concluded on July 4, 2019 particularly focused its examination of the killings in Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen along the Middle Belt regions of the country.

The 178 page report particularly cited the unwarranted killings of unarmed Christians by Fulani herdsmen, who are most of the times armed with sophisticated weapons.

The report raised concerns that the security structure in Nigeria appears reluctant to go after the Fulani herdsmen attackers, stressing that the military are more tuned to going after the victims.

It specifically noted that Christians in Nigeria are clearly suffering persecution, adding that the Buhari administration has done little to stop the tide of killings but instead engaged in denying the occurrence of religious killings.

Information pieced together indicate that the Buhari-led administration is so uncomfortable with the report particularly its submission to the UK parliament.
