Chief Fashola Faniyi an Ifa priest and founder of the Ancestral Pride Foundation has suggested that elected public officers should be sworn in using the traditional method.

 

He questioned why the bible and Quoran are the only items used during swearing in thereby making tradition to go into extinct.

 

Chief Faniyi said swearing in of public servants using the god of Iron and Thunder will make the officials accountable and transparent in their dealings.

 

He also noted that politicians know the implications of swearing with traditional gods “because it will result in instant punishment when they indulge in sin or immorality.’’

 

He said this on Wednesday on the sideline of a news conference marking the first anniversary of the Ancestral Pride Foundation in Ota, Ogun State.

 

Faniyi said: “Why can’t we swear in our public officers through traditional methods such as the god of iron and the god of thunder, to mention just a few.
