If Nigeria Is A Cattle Republic, then let the world know, Activist Tells Buhari, Speaks on RUGA

Amidst the controversial RUGA cattle settlement of the Fulani Herdsmen by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of Nigeria, a human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, has told President Buhari that Nigeria is not a Cattle Republic. In his press statement sent to us, Comrade Paul, queried the Buhari government to tell the World if Nigeria is a Cattle Republic.

“President Muhammadu Buhari must be aware that Nigeria is not a Cattle Republic. He should shamelessly present a proof and tell the World on how Nigeria is a Fulani Cattle Republic. We are not ready to cede any portion of our land for “RUGA” Settlement or Cattle colony. I enjoy all Nigerians to continue kicking  against this digital jihadist conquest.

“Buhari’s relentless insomnia and obsession for Cattle and Cows is an incurable psychological disorder to the detriment of the peaceful Nigerian people.

“He has raped and murdered the commonality and commendable prowess Nigeria. His anti-peoples policies are ruthless, tsunamic, lifeless and clueless to the justified confirmation of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the former Defence Minister, T.Y Danjuma, who insist to exposing his clandestine Fulanization and Islamization agenda.

“President Buhari, told the World few moment ago through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, that “Ruga Settlement is to resolve farmer/herder conflict” He went further to say that “it seeks to settle migrant pastoral families in an organized place with provision of necessary and adequate basic amenities”.

“In contradiction, the Chairman of Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Fayemi Kayode, said that the brain behind the RUGA settlement is not from the Presidency but from the FOOD SECURITY COMMISSION which makes it a voluntary exercise.

“To proof that the Buhari administration is full of deceits and pernicious lies, the Government of Benue State through the Chief Press Secretary (Terver Akase) to Governor Samuel Otom, released a press statement on June 25, 2019, staying that few weeks ago, the Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture with his team, informed the officials of the State Ministry of Agriculture that he had received directives from the Ministry’s Headquarters, Abuja, to establish RUGA in Benue State with Otukpo, Tarka and Ukum as selected Local Government where the Buhari government has already commenced work for the proposed controversial RUGA Settlement.

“Going by such revelation by the Benue State Government, it means that this administration is obviously hell bent to puncture and violate all the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Laws in some States like Benue and Ekiti devoid of other 12 States already mapped out for RUGA Settlement with impunity.

“I put it to Buhari that he has no vires to establish RUGA or Fulani Herdsmen Settlement in any State in Nigeria by virtue of the Constitution incorporating the Land Use Act. In other words, all lands in Nigeria (except Abuja) are vested in State Governors’ Constitutional powers. If you see RUGA in your State, just know that your Governor compromised. The RUGA scheme is targeted at forcefully taking indigenous ancestral lands through a terror of conquest and installment of Fulani Emirates. Nigerians are very angry and would never accept any imposition of RUGA settlement.

“As noted, Cattle rearing is a private business whose operators do not bring any dividend to our national treasury account. Why is the Buhari government funding and supporting Fulani Herdsmen against other Nigerians? Can the Southern farmers, goat rearers, poultry farmers and those in piggery business be asking for FARM SETTLEMENT in the North? Why must they be using our federal resources to fund RUGA? What makes them different especially when a good number of them are non-Nigerian not to mention all the tales of woes that trail behind their movement in recent times.  Entrepreneurs in this field should acquire land in the Sambisa forest in the Northeast for ranches. Fulani herdsmen make huge profit in Cattle business and do not pay taxes and am not sure if their businesses are registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission ( CAC).

“If the Buhari government is sincere, let them support the States to set up ranches to be managed by the indigenous cattle rearers. Every State has indigenous cattle rearers. Fulanis do not have monopoly of wisdom and capacity to rear cattle. To impose RUGA on Nigerians would be disastrous on the innocent Nigerians by the history of the Fulanis. Posterity will not judge this government fairly. We do not have issues with herders. All other professions are regulated and have boundaries including medical practice. When brains drain becomes worrisome, there are negotiations with the government. Public practicing doctors for instance were allowed into private practice with clearly defined regulations that enable offenders to be punished. Government did not acquire land and build hospitals for doctors in order to stem the tide.

“This government is unwilling to address the issue pragmatically. It wants to use it to plant and embed Fulanis in every community in Nigeria. They have already caused a lot of mayhem and hence the outcry  all over the country. No right thinking community in the South will allow it.

“How do these Fulanis become so powerful than the Buhari government? Why is the Buhari administration romancing them? Why are they openly terrorizing Nigerians with impunity and sophisticated weapons of mass destructions without being forestalled? Could it be that the Buhari government controls customs so that they can bring in weapons of war? Is it that the government controls the immigration so they can bring in Fulani fighters from all over West and North Africa? Is it that they control the National Assembly so that there will be no adverse Parliamentary proceedings against them? Or they control the army so that if you fight back, they Python Dance you? Is it that they control the Executive so they can dip into the national treasury to fund the Fulanization of Nigeria? Or they control the Ministry of Information so they can control what you hear and set up their own Fulani radio station? Has the jihad technically started?

Buhari should be aware that Nigeria is indeed not a Cattle Republic,” Comrade Njoku, said.
