Activist and socio-political commentator, Henry Shield, said those against the homily delivered by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Kukah on Christmas Day.
Respected Bishop Kukah had in the Christmas message titled, ‘A nation in search of vindication’, accused the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), of nepotism, noting that Buhari was deliberately sacrificing the dreams of Nigerians to institutionalise northern hegemony.
The cleric’s statement attracted criticisms and condemnations from the Islamic groups and the Presidency.
But in a series of tweets, Henry Shield said; “The attack on Bishop Matthew Kukah shows that, Social media, while giving voice to the sensible, also gave voice to the senseless.
“Only a bandit will oppose what Bishop Kukah said!
“How can you call for the arrest of someone asking the President to protect you? Bloody hoodlum!
“It’s beginning to look like many of the pardoned boko boys have been sent to Twitter to defend Buhari.”
