Oba Benjamin Omotayo, the Eleda of Eda-Ile in Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being kidnappers.
The monarch was allegedly kidnapped while working on his property in the hamlet on Friday evening.
He was allegedly apprehended in the presence of his wife.
This happened just two months after the Obaadu of Ilemeso-Ekiti, Oba David Oyewumi, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Oye local government area, and the Elewu of Ewu-Ekiti, Oba Adetutu Ajayi, was shot.
Brigadier General Joe Komolafe(retd. ), the Commander of the Ekiti State Security Network known as Amotekun, confirmed the abduction, adding that all security forces in Ekiti, including police, soldiers, Amotekun corps, local hunters, and Vigilance groups, are already searching the forests for the monarch.
