Just In: Nigeria Attorney-General, Malami Adjusts Kanu's Case, Place IPOB On Order






The Nigeria’s Attorney General, Abubakar Malami has adjusted the number of charges filed against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.



The Department of State Service (DSS) had on 23 November 2015 filed cases on intimidation, criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms and membership of an illegal organization which branches penal code Section 97, 97B and 397 upon the IPOB leader.




In a fresh statement on sighted on Wednesday the attorney general’s office notes that the ongoing trial has taken a new dimension as new charges were added to the existing ones.




He stressed that the court will be hearing further cases on murder, terrorism, banditry and criminality.




The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Malami explained that Mr Kanu has indulged in heinous crimes never been experienced in Nigeria for had attacked and killed Fulani Cattle Rearers, Force Personnel and other unlisted cases.



He emphasized the Herdsmen are innocent and only catering to their cows.



The Attorney General, who also serves as Nigeria’s Chief Justice revealed that a warning has been drafted to IPOB members planning to grace the next court case in Abuja, said none is expected around court premises on the trial day.



He additionally disclosed that security agencies with the attorney’s office have concluded plans on how to deal with anyone to ferment trouble. Noted that no branded IPOB T-shirts including caps is to be allowed within the court arena.



Malami, however, permitted to only allow Lawyers to Kanu and the Federal government, key government officials at the Abuja court seating to avoid a crowd.
